Lovedale is a beautifully restored farmhouse nestled amongst the breathtaking Drakensberg and Witteberg mountains.

The farmhouse is spacious and comfortable  -  fully equiped. From the “stoep” the view is that of a valley of green lands, poplar plantations, mountains and the river in the distance.

The beautiful historic village –Rhodes- is 5 kilometers from the farm.  A visit to the town is a must.  There are a few restaurants – two shops that sell the bare necessities – the old Victorian “Rhodes Hotel” – Walkerbouts for pizzas and listed one of the best bars in the world – art gallery and crafts – tennis courts – quads to hire – fly shop for trout fishing equipment - shuttle services to the ski resort and other surprises.

The Bell river entwines its way through the farm.  8 kilometers of excellent trout fishing water is all available to you.   Fish to your hearts content….

If you spot Rhodes on the map,  and your visions of Lovedale excludes large numbers of tourists,  traffic,  crime, the buzz and malls – then this is for you.  True country bliss.

Bothwell (self catering) also a restored farmhouse in the Bokspruit,  will provide the visitor an experience of a truly remote and special area in the Rhodes district.
The farm - 762 hectares - hosts of the best trout fishing waters in the country,  original bushmen paintings,  beautiful mountain walks and trails.
Only the sounds of nature will interrupt the silence.  At night candles,  lamps, the sound of a cracking fire and the stars will comfort your soul.  Bothwell does not have modern facilities.  There is NO:  electricity or cell phone reception, no television or radio.
The most amazing part is that there are no alarms,  no burglar bars,  no locking up necessary and no crime what so ever.
This place will be one of those places you will definitely return to.  It will creep in under your skin.
